Geocache Description:

Journey around Johnson's Lake to find an unexpected surprise!

PLEASE NOTE THIS CACHE WILL BE TAKEN DOWN APRIL 14, 2014. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN OUR SNOWDAYS SERIES AND WE HOPE YOU JOIN US FOR SNOWDAYS 2015!

Discover a place that many people will walk by in a lifetime and never know exists!

Bundle up and grab a friend, this cache location requires 2 feet and a heart beat...and some good winter boots!  This cache is not recommended to attempt on your own.  When heading into the woods in Banff National Park, it is always recommended to go with a partner or in a group.  The starting point for this cache is the Johnson's Lake Parking Lot.  From the parking lot, follow the trail that circles the lake counter-clockwise.  Always stay on the marked trails to minimize trampling on vegetation.  About 10 minutes into the trail, you will need to make a right turn onto a new path.  The rest is up to you to navigate your way to the cache!  Trail maps can be found at the Banff Visitor Information Centre.

Please do not place any trade items in this container - We prefer that visitors focus on the location of the cache and story that the cache will communicate, rather than trade items. This will also prevent a cache from containing items that may attract wildlife.

This is the 2nd cache in a series of 5 caches created exclusively for SnowDays, a month-long festival jam-packed with mid-week events and weekend festivals that celebrate Banff’s historic love for winter. Print Passport, visit all 4 remaining SnowDays cache sites that are listed and linked on the same page you find the passport and "stamp" the icon found on each container into your passport.

Find all 4 caches, fill up your passport  and you will be rewarded with a collectable coin to be claimed from the Banff Lake Louise Tourism desk at the Banff Visitor Information Centre located at 224 Banff Ave or the Lake Louise Visitor Information Centre located in the Samson Mall in the Lake Louise Village.  Limited to one coin per passport.

Event Runs until mid April, 2014.

Hint:  What once was hot, now is cold.
