Geocache Description:

This mini series includes my favorite birds of the ACT! Please BYO pen. You can park along Badimara just be careful during the busier times of the day.

Rainbow lorikeets are one my favorite Australian parrots given their brilliant colors and liveliness when feeding, dancing for mates, or competing with other birds at the feeder. They seem to think they're bigger and better then they really are....having seen a pair take on 5 cockatoos at one time! I think its about time such a character driven bird scored its own cache. If you happen to see them in the ACT it is most likely they are aviary escapees! I have only ever seen them in Fisher, Macquarie and Farrer...if you have seen these birds anywhere else in the ACT, please tell me in a log below and I will deliver the information to COG (Canberra Ornithological Group)
