Na Praia da Parede, em frente ao Bar Esplanada Xana, identificou-se uma jazida com pegadas de dinossáurios numa área frequentemente parcialmente coberta por areia.
Trata-se de uma camada de calcário margoso muito fossilífero, pertencente à parte inferior da unidade Calcários e margas do “Belasiano” (C²AC) do Albiano superior a Cenomaniano médio (Fig. 2), tendo em conta a Carta Geológica de Portugal, Folha 34-C (Cascais), e segundo os dados estratigráficos de Ramalho et al. (1999).
Na Praia da Parede existe uma extensa plataforma de rocha e, numa pequena área junto ao paredão que se prolonga desde o solário, a Oeste, e em frente ao Bar Esplanada Xana, evidencia-se uma série de impressões dispostas regularmente segundo uma direcção preferencial. Estas marcas na rocha são atribuíveis a impressões de pés e de mãos de um dinossáurio quadrúpede, possivelmente um saurópode, podendo existir uma outra pista parcialmente conservada. Devido sobretudo à natureza do sedimento, nestas impressões não foram preservadas marcas de dedos, ou de outras características anatómicas, do animal que as produziu. A superfície onde se encontram preservadas estas impressões é irregular devido à passagem de outros dinossáurios, indicando um moderado índice de dinoturbação.

Na Praia da Parede, observem as pegadas de dinosauros identificadas (Notem que têm de ir lá na maré baixa!) e aqui terás de responder a umas perguntas para validar o “FOUND IT” nesta cache, nomeadamente:
1- Comprimento médio das pegadas; 2- Largura média das pegadas; 3- Consegues identificar os dedos dos dinos nesta superfície?
No caso das pegadas estarem cobertas com sedimento, repondam à pergunta alternativa: Estima a altura da parede imediatamente a norte das coordenadas.

In Parede Beach, opposite the Terrace Bar Xana, a deposit with dinosaur footprints was identified in an area often partially covered by sand.
The extensive rock platform in Parede Beach is made up of a very fossiliferous layer of marly limestone belonging to the lower part of the "Belasiano” Limestone and Marls Unit (C ² AC) of the Upper Albian-Mid Cenomanian (around a 100 M.a.) , taking into account the Geological Map Portugal, Sheet C-34 (Cascais), and also according to the stratigraphic data of Ramalho et al. (1999).
In Parede Beach there is an extensive rock platform and a small area near the breakwater extending from the sunroom to the west, and opposite the Terrace Bar Xana that shows a series of prints regularly arranged according to a preferred direction. These tracks are attributable to the rock impressions of the feet and hands of a quadruped dinosaur, possibly a sauropod, and there may be another track partially conserved. Mainly due to the nature of the sediment, the impressions of the fingers were not preserved, or of any other anatomical features of the animal that produced them. The surface where these tracks are preserved is irregular due to the passage of other dinosaurs, indicating a moderate level of dinoturbation.
The EarthCache
In order to log a “found it” on this cache you have to be able to answer the following questions (Please note that you have to go there during low tide):
1- What is the average length of the footprints?; 2- What is the average width of the footprints?; 3- Can you identify the toe and finger impressions of the dinosaurs that once walked along here?
Alternate question in case the footprints are covered or semi covered by sand: Estimate the height of the wall at immediately N of the GZ coordinates.
