Palo_Box Letterbox Hybrid

THIS IS A LETTERBOX HYBRID CACHE. THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES!

This is a tough hike and climb. I logged 2.13 miles car-to-car with a 789 foot elevation gain. No trails, rugged terrain, steep, long, and loose rock. I parked at N 33 01.724 W 112 09.858. There may be a better place to come in from, but I don't know of any.

Initially, I had hoped to find the listed Benchmark at the top of this peak (Palo, DV2109), and the letterbox/cache would be placed nearby. I did not find the Benchmark, but I did find a "Summit Log" in a glass jar that had been placed there almost 7 years ago! I am the first to sign it, using "R.F.". It appears to be located where the Benchmark may have been. It claims to be at 2088 feet, where my GPSr showed 2077. Your mission is to first find this "Summit Log" at the given coords to establish your starting place. You may sign it if you wish, but it IS NOT THE CACHE! You are not required to sign it. From this spot, you will go about 32-35 feet at about 112 degrees where you will find the cache in the shade of a palo verde tree. It's a classic Bucky & McGee container, impossible to miss. This is a Letterbox Hybrid geocache. It functions just like any other geocache and has exchange items and a log. Signing the geocache log is all that is required to claim full credit for the find. Please bring your personal stamp AND INK PAD (not included in the cache container) if you wish to stamp the log. Feel free to use the stamp that's in the cache container to stamp your personal book, but PLEASE BE SURE TO LEAVE IT THERE.....IT IS NOT A TRADE ITEM!...Have FUN!...
