Geocache Description:

Having enjoyed many Church Micros, either as a regular or a multi, I thought it was definitely overdue that I sited one myself - so here it is! The given coords will take you to the first grave around to the right of the church as you enter from the carpark. WP - GC4VFP5 is the ample parking just in front of this lovely church which has amazing views over Newton Abbot and beyond.

The Parish Church of All Saints, Highweek was consecrated by Edmund Lacey, Bishop of Exeter on 19th April 1428. Highweek was part of the Kingsteignton parish up until the 1860s, and before then the Kingsteignton Vicar would appoint a Curate in Charge of Highweek. In 1246, King Henry III granted a licence to Sir Theobald de Englishville to build a new town around the chapel, to rival the town of Newton Abbot on the opposite side of the Lemon. Theobald conveyed his interest to his nephew Robert Bushell, so the new town became known as Newton Bushell.

PLEASE NOTE - 18.6.14 - as several geocachers have had problems with locating the gravestones, I have reduced the stages which should simplify this multicache and have not altered the D/T rating - the final cache has not been moved, and is on site today!
To work out the final coords, go to the given coords for the first gravestone, and then return to the gate and walk around with the church on your RIGHT for the second gravestone. If you have walked passed the end of the church, you have walked too far! There is NO NEED to leave the main path at any time to look for the information. Once the final coords are worked out, the cache is a short easy walk away outside the church grounds. Be aware that this is a popular dog walking route!
There is no pen/cil in the cache = THEREFORE NO SIGNED LOG = NO SMILEY ON YOUR GEOMAP!!

Please ensure the cache log is kept within the plastic bag, and that the cache is hidden with natural camo for the next visitor to find.
