Geocache Description:

Ready to learn about GSAK? Do you want to learn more what GSAK can do for you? Since many people use GSAK or similiar programs to make geocaching easier, be ready for an informative evening.

Rufnredy will hold the workshop in 2 sessions with a couple weeks apart so you can practice what you learned in the first workshop. The first session will start with the basics assuming you just downloaded the program. We will begin by going through the menus, setting up the configuration for your account, creating databases, and importing Pocket Queries. As we go through the menus, we will touch on the major GSAK functionality including creating filters, sorting the data, and exporting it to your GPS. As time allows, we can also explore some of the other basic capabilities and answer questions.

The second session (date to be announced soon) will continue with uncovering the more advanced capabilities of the program. This will include demonstration of some of the more popular macros such as the creation of statistics, mapping your caches, and route planning. We will also explore the direct access into geocaching.com including publishing logs, getting caches, and updating cache status among others. We will also have some time to answer some “how to” questions.

Rufnredy would like the more advanced users with questions to please get them to him beforehand so he can try to fully address them during the class and everyone will learn from them.

Bring your laptop or tablet with GSAK already installed prior to the workshop. You can download it free from the GSAK web site.

If you are not a premium member and would like to be able to work with Pocket Queries, you can send me a message for a trial Premimum membership that is good for 30 days. You may want to activate just before the event.

WIFI is available with some social sites blocked.

If anyone has a projector that can be used for the 2 classes, please let us know.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send a message.

Hope to see you there.
