The church was built in the 1870s as part of the Million Pound Act funded project to provide Anglican worship centres in all settlements. The church building is in good order, following recent renovation works and the money has recently seen the installation of a disabled toilet and fitted kitchen in the vestry, and the building of a mezzanine meeting room above the vestry. The recent additions have greatly enhanced the use of the church by all ages and sectors of the congregation and the community.
