Geocache Description:

This is cache # 21. Record the code letter found inside the cache container in box # 21 on your Passport.

Cache is located near the old white cabin, just off the trail at the base of a tree. There has been some debate about the coordinates being inaccurate. It might be better to ignore the GPS and just use the description, hint and your "geosense" to find it. Please re-hide it with proper covering so it's not in plain sight.

Washington-on-the-Brazos is where it all began! In 1836 a declaration of independence was drafted and signed and as a result Texas became a Republic, no longer a part of Mexico. This state historic site will show you all about Texas beginnings and how things were back in the 1800s. Be sure to visit the Star of the Republic Museum, Barrington Living History Farm, and Independence Hall. There are many caches in the park, but will require some walking to get to a couple of them. There is also a lovely picnic and play area for families to gather just a little farther down the road from this cache.

WOB is also the location of annual events such as Texas Independence Celebration in March, Fireworks on the Brazos on July 4 and lots of historical presentations throughout the year.

The park is open 8am to sundown, so night caching is not an option.
