Geocache Description:

Cache is small, BYOP. Beware of spiders.

This location is the site of the first country club of Brenham. Built by Alfred C. Finn, the same architect who designed the Simon Theater in downtown Brenham and the San Jacinto Monument in Houston! The Citadel opened its doors in 1924, but had to close six years later due to the Depression. Ms. Johnnie Mae Hackworth, former clerk in the Texas House of Representatives, bought the building and use it as her private residence from 1939 until her death in 1980.
