Christ Church Rhyd-Croesau.
In 1920 the Church in Wales was disestablished and a referendum was held in the village to decide if the Church should go to Church of England or Church in Wales. The vote was in favour of the Church of England, and so it is to this day, one of the few Churches of England actually situated in Wales.
The church was originally consecrated in 1838 and reconstructed in 1886. A full history is available in the
church.
The church seats 100 people. The interior, though not ornate, is beautiful. The tapestry kneelers depicting
rural life were made by local people for the millennium in 2000.
The tower houses bells and a clock.
“If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list”
