St John's Church was the original parish church of Weston super Mare. It sits alongside Grove Park in which you can find Jill's Garden, in memory of Jill Dando, a local girl. It is a lovely old church which, in it's heyday, would probably have been a impressive sight from the seafront, Unfortunately it is now obscured by Weston college. Grove Park is a peaceful area to sit and watch the huge numbers of squirrels that live there. Well worth a detour off the High Street. I have had to move this for two reasons, one, the squirrels kept stealing the cache and two. the ivy that was giving cover has died right back. I never knew ivy died back, it doesn't seem to normally! So this is a little way from sight of the church unless in winter when the leaves have fallen. But it's a lovely park and church anyway!
