12. Houndtor Wood Hike Traditional Geocache

This is the twelfth cache on a circular walk of just over 3 miles taking in a beautiful wooded river valley. The path is wet, muddy and uneven in places. The walk involves a fairly steep descent and obviously an uphill stretch to return to the car.

Follow the byway to Water and Manaton.

The first half of the walk meets up with the River Bovey in Houndtor Wood and follows it down the valley through woodland owned by Natural England and then you return via the Woodland Trust reserve.

The GPS signal is not very good along this route but hopefully with the given hints it should be ok!
