O miradouro do Ilhéu, em Câmara de Lobos, fica situado no rochedo sobranceiro ao mar onde segundo alguns autores terá sido o local da primeira residência de João Gonçalves Zarco, descobridor da ilha pois o ilhéu dar-lhe-ia mais segurança. Segundo a história a denominação de ilhéu dada a este rochedo deve-se ao facto deste ter estado totalmente rodeado pelo mar que contudo depois da queda de terrenos terá estabelecido a ligação a terra. Deste miradouro, pode-se observar o Cabo Girão, a praia do Vigário, o Largo da República e parte da enseada.

The Ilhéu (islet) viewpoint, in Camara de Lobos, is located in the cliff overlooking the sea where according to some authors has been the site of the first residence of João Gonçalves Zarco, the discoverer of the Madeira island because these islet would give you more security.
