Sepulturas Antropomórficas:
Existem em Midões 4 sepulturas antropomórficas que consistem em escavações realizadas em rochas para manter os corpos dos defuntos antes da realização do seu enterro. Não se sabe ao certo quando foram construídas, mas esta espécie de sepulturas começaram a ter registo em Portugal para finais do século IX, no entanto estima-se que a sua realização derive de meados do século VII.
A Freguesia
Midões é uma das 15 freguesias de Tábua. Tábua situa-se no alto Mondego, sendo uma vila muito visitada devido a possuir património histórico com elevado valor, nomeadamente, aldeias de xisto, velhos solares, palacetes e muitas histórias de séculos passados.
Midões tem na actualidade cerca de 1725 habitantes, dispersados por 19.98 km² .
No entanto nem sempre foi assim, pois a história desta freguesia é bastante vasta, tendo em 1514 sido considerada como sede do concelho e assim se manteve até 1853.
Midões é muito visitada por turistas, pois tem locais muito significativos para a história de Portugal como a Capela de São Miguel, a casa de João Brandão, Igreja Matriz de Midões, Capela da Nossa Senhora da Esperança em Touriz, Capela de Nossa Senhora do Campo no Casal da Senhora, Palácio de Midões, sepulturas antropomórficas, entre outros locais.
O Container
O container contém um lápis, um logbook e permite a troca de pequenos objetos. É um local aberto e normalmente não há ninguém à volta, mas se avistarem "muggles" é recomendada alguma discrição.
Anthropomorphic Graves:
There are 4 anthropomorphic graves in Midões, excavations in the rock to keep the bodies of the deceased prior to his burial. No one knows for sure when they were built, but this sort of graves have begun to appear in Portugal in the end of the ninth century, however it is estimated that this were made in the mid-seventh century.
The Parish
Midões is one of th 15 parishes of Tábua. Tábua is located at the top of Mondego River, being a much visited village due to having a high heritage value, particularly schist villages, old manor houses, palaces and many stories of past centuries.
Midões has at present about 1725 inhabitants, scattered 19.98 km ².
However it was not always like that, in the past, this parish was very extensive, having in 1514 been regarded as County and so remained until 1853.
Midões is much visited by tourists because places like the Chapel of St. Michael, the home of João Brandão, Church of Midões, Chapel of Our Lady of Hope in Touriz, Chapel of Our Lady of the Fields in Casal da Senhora, the Palace of Midões, anthropomorphic graves, among other places.
The Container
The container contains a pencil, a logbook and allows the exchange of small objects. It is an open space and usually there is no one around, but if you sight any "muggle" discretion is recommended.
