Spend some time with the Yanamarca River. This cache is where our little river crosses the Acolla-Marco road. At the bridge, you can often see how local life affects the river. In the Yanamarca Valley, we’re working to improve the quality of the surface water. You may have seen one of the sources of this river, the spring in the village of Yanamarca, close to the geocache at the Spanish Colonial church. Right here you can see the river in the midst of the valley. You can also see where it disappears mysteriously into the earth at the Capilla Millpun geocache.
You can walk the riverbank from this cache to the cache at the Institute of Marco, and from there on south to the Pacascucho-Tragedero road, which you can take to get to the “Birdwatchers’ Challenge” geocache.
