Geocache Description:

During the westward expansion of America and before the telegraph, Pony Express riders traveled far and fast to deliver written communications between individuals. In the spirit of these riders, I give to you this multi-cache...Pony Express.

Before you embark on your quest to get the Pony Express cache as a find on your list, please be aware of a few things. The route that you will follow is along a section of the old U.S. Highway 20/26. While there are portions of the road that still have asphalt, there are parts of the asphalt that is deteriorating and there are also portions of the road that is dirt. Inclement weather may make it difficult or impossible for some vehicles to travel on this road.

CACHE DETAILS - Again, this is a multi-stage cache. The initial stage of this cache will get you started on your way to find three more stages. At these stages, you will receive the coordinates to the next stage and also a single digit (out of three) that needs to be used to open a combination lock to access the actual cache. The combination digits that you retrieve are in the order that need to be entered into the lock

So, for example, stage one will start you on your quest and give you the coordinates to stage two. Stage two will give you the coordinates to stage three and will give you the first combination digit. Stage three will give you the next set of coordinates and the second digit of the combination, and the next stage will give you the cache's final coordinates and the last digit of the combination.

Use the combination to open the lock and access the cache. The cache is quite fitting for the theme of this cache so it can accommodate many items for trade. Please close the cache back up (it may be a little difficult because of the locking device when the door hits it) and please lock it up when done. Please do not post any spoilers, please do not post the combination or the final cache location. I hope you enjoy this memory trip back into time, and that you enjoy the scenery and of course the cache. Happy hunting!

Congratulations to Wyomingguy for the FTF!
