Forewarned is forearmed Traditional Cache

Site of one of 1,563 bunkers, constructed during the Cold War from which volunteer observers could give advance warning of nuclear attack.

Placed as tribute to all ROC volunteers who manned the posts.

Thanks for to J33PKN whose cache Crianlarich ROC  gave me the initial knowledge and the idea.

This particular post only operated between 1962 and 1968. Other posts on Skye remained in use until 1991.

The cache is a small plastic box 10 x 14 x 5 cm.

Contains log book, pencil, pencil sharpener, room for small TBs and a few small swappables.

The ROC site is located on a single track road a few metres from the roadside.

The cache is located approx 60 m from the site of the ROC post.

Please park sensibly so you don't obstruct traffic.

September 2015 - the hiding place has collapsed - a kind cacher has moved it slightly - so look around if co-ords are not spot on. Suspect I may have to archive this one or find a totally different spot to hide it!
