Geocache Description:

The Downland Diversion provides an excellent circular hike avoiding the puzzle caches and very steep ascent of the escarpment involved in the full Hognore Hike. It follows the route of one of my favourite walks in this area of the North Downs, passing through beautiful and varied countryside - including woodland, chalk grassland and footpaths through fields below the Downs. To enjoy the fine views the walk should, ideally, be completed in good weather.

This is the last of my five series of walks on the North Downs that all interlink at some point – from west to east they are the Hognore Hike, Downland Diversion, Trottiscliffe Trail, Birling Loop and Snodland Circuit.
