EN: If I had to pick one movie from my adolescence years, it would have been „The Warriors”. Of course, I also loved “The Blues Brothers”, and “Wargames”, and “Grease”, and all the teen comedies starring Brat pack, but “The Warriors” had suspense, action, adventure, few nice chicks, and of course, New York gang war. This is the summary of the movie written by an imdb user:
“New York City. Home to 7,000,000 people, they work, play, and have fun by day. But at night the city is run by ruthless street gangs such as; The Furies, The Boppers, The Hi-Hats, The Lizzies, The Turnbull AC's, The Gramercy Riffs and The Warriors. One night at an all gangs meeting, the leader of the Riffs, Cyrus, makes a speech and creates a plan to unite all the gangs of the city. One gang strong enough to overpower the police. But suddenly he is shot and a gang called The Warriors are framed by Luther, leader of the Rogues. Now they have to return to Coney Island, escaping from 20,000 policemen and 100,000 sworn enemies. The pump is painted as one of the Warriors gang members, in their characteristic leather vest. If I could have a vest like that back in the 80’s in Yugoslavia, I would have given up one of my… well, I would have given a lot (the only other item with comparable “value” in my world was a black leather “T-birds” jacket that Travolta wore in Grease, but that’s another story).
For the people grew up in the 80’s, especially in Yugoslavia, “The Warriors” was an encyclopedia example of a cult movie. If you still haven’t seen it, what are you waiting for?

HR: Da sam morao izabrati jedan film koji je obilježio moje tinejdžerske godine, to bi svakako bio “Ratnici podzemlja” (The Warriors) . Naravno, volio sam ja i “Blues Brothers”-e, i “Wargames”, i “Grease”, i sve teen komedije članova Brat pack-a, ali Warriorsi su imali neizvjesnost, akciju, avanturu, par dobrih komada, i naravno, rat uličnih njujorških bandi.
Ovo je sažetak filma napisan od strane jednog IMDB korisnika:
"New York City. Dom za 7.000.000 ljudi. Oni tijekom dana rade, igraju se, i zabavljaju. Ali noću, gradom upravljaju nemilosrdne ulične bande kao što su; The Furies, The Boppers, The Hi-Hats, The Lizzies, The Turnbull AC's, The Gramercy Riffs i The Warriors. Pumpa je oslikana kao jedan od članova Warriors-a, u svom karakterističnom kožnom prsluku. Da mi je bilo imati ovakav prsluk 80-ih u Jugoslaviji, dao bih jedno svoje... dobro, dao bi puno toga (jedini drugi predmet s usporedivom "vrijednošću" u mom svijetu onda je bila crna kožnata "T-birds" jakna kakvu je Travolta nosio u Grease-u, ali to je posebna priča).
Za ljude odrasle u 80-ima, pogotovo u Jugoslaviji, "The Warriors" je enciklopedijski primjer kultnog filma. Ako ga još niste pogledali, što čekate?
