The small, brick and flint church of St James, built in 1859, lies towards the southern end of the village. It was designed by the notable church architect, Samuel Sanders Teulon. The interior is brick with patterns formed by the use of differently coloured bricks.

George died aged 7A in 1B23, Avis was C5 years when she died in 19D8 and Hugh fell asleep aged 3E years on February F6th.
