EN: Extremely quick in following the recent events, Pimp my Pump crew surprised me once again. A rock legend Lou Reed passed away on October 27th, 2013, and just a day later, this beautiful pump was painted as a homage to the legend. The least I could do is to quickly put the cache there, while the paint is still wet…
Lou Reed began his career in the 60’s as a guitarist, vocalist and a principal songwriter for the Velvet Underground. They were a commercial failure in the late 1960s, but gained a considerable cult following in the years since its demise and have gone on to become one of the most widely cited and influential bands of the era. Their debut album The Velvet Underground & Nico from 1967. reached only number 171 on Billboard top 200 at the time, but the album is now widely considered one of the most influential rock albums ever recorded.
Rolling Stone has it listed as the 13th most influential album of all time. Its album cover is famous for featuring an Andy Warhol print of a banana. Early copies of the album invited the owner to "Peel slowly and see"; peeling back the banana skin revealed a pink-colored banana underneath.
This famous pop-art icon was featured on this pump, combined with the album cover “Transformer”, from Lou Reed’s solo career, which began in 1972, after his departure from the group
The following year brought his biggest hit, Walk on the Wild Side. His long and successful solo career continued until his death.

HR: Iznimno brzi u praćenju recentnih događaja, Pimp my Pump-ovci u me još jednom iznenadili. Rock legenda Lou Reed je umro 27.10.2013., a samo 2 dana kasnije, ova divna pumpa je oslikana u čast ugasle legende. Najmanje što sam ja mogao napraviti je postaviti cache na nju, dok se boja još nije osušila…
Lou Reed počinje svoju karijeru u 60-ima kao gitarist, pjevač i glavni autor pjesama u grupi Velvet Underground. U kasnim 60-ima su bili komercijalni neuspjeh, no postaju kult band u godinama nakon raspada, te prerastaju u jedan od najspominjanijih i najutjecajnijih bandova tog doba. Njihov debitantski album The Velvet Underground & Nico iz 1967. je stigao samo do 171. mjesta Billboard-ove Top 200 liste, ali danas se smatra za jedan od najznačajnijih rock albuma ikad snimljenih.
