Geocache Description:

The cache container is placed very close to the Romanian Athenaeum (Ateneul Român) which is the main concert hall of Bucharest, a real landmark of the city. It was opened in 1888 and it is home of "George Enescu" Philharmonic and George Enescu international music festival.

The overall style is neoclassical and in front of the building is a small park and a statue of Mihai Eminescu, a well-known Romanian poet.

The auditorium has of capacity of aprox. 650 seats (600 stalls and 50 loges). A 75-sqm long and 3-m wide fresco by Costin Petrescu decorates the circular wall of the concert hall. Painted using the al fresco technique, the piece depicts the most significant moments of Romanian history, starting with the conquest of Dacia by Roman emperor Traian and ending with the realization of Great Romania in 1918.

Recognized as a symbol of Romanian culture, the building has been enlisted since 2007 on the European Heritage sites.

Pls be extremely stealth and bring your own pen!
