Encontramo-nos em 1658. O Rei Ataíde, Rei da Consolação, soube de antemão que iriam ser invadidos por tropas inimigos. Assim, organizou e detalhou, imediatamente, um plano estratégico de fuga. Dois dias depois, já tinha o plano elaborado, convocou uma reunião com todos os seus soldados e comunicou o seu plano.
No dia seguinte, de madrugada, o Rei e os soldados, abandonaram o Castelo da Praia da Consolação. Desceram até à praia e iniciaram a marcha.
O Rei Ataíde pretendia conduzir o seu exército até ao Castelo da Nazaré (seus aliados). Tinha planeado a marcha para a Nazaré com muito cuidado, no entanto, houve três circunstâncias que atrasaram o exército. Primeiro, chuvas torrenciais fizeram a infantaria abrandar durante meio dia. A seguir, quando chegaram à Lagoa de Óbidos, o Rei observou que a ponte tinha sido levada com a corrente, devido às enormes cheias que se fizeram sentir nestes dias. O tempo extra necessário para encontrarem um lugar onde pudessem atravessar a lagoa em segurança foi um décimo do número total de dias inicialmente previstos para todo o percurso.
Depois de atravessarem a lagoa, o exercito estava exausto. O Rei foi obrigado a fazer uma paragem de três dias para descansar.
Quando o exercito chegou finalmente à Nazaré, encontraram-se com os seus aliados, que lhes ofereceram abrigo, comida e proteção.
A marcha para a Nazaré tinha demorado, ao todo, mais um terço do número de dias previsto.

We are in 1658. The King Ataíde, King of the Consolação, knew beforehand that enemies would be going to be invaded by troops. So, he organized and detailed, immediately, a strategic plan of escape. Two days later, already he had the prepared plan, he called a meeting with all his soldiers and communicated his plan.
The next day, of dawn, the King and the soldiers, left the Castle of the Beach of the Consolação. They went down even to the beach and began the march.
The King Ataíde was intending his army led even to the Castle of the Nazaré (his allies). It had planned the march for to Nazaré with much care, however, there were three circumstances that delayed the army. First, torrential rains made the infantry ease during midday. Next, when they reached the Pond of Óbidos, the King noticed that the bridge had been taken with the current, due to the enormous floods that made be felt on these days. The necessary extra time in order that they found a place where they could cross the pond in security was a tenth one of the total number of days initially predicted for the whole distance.
After they crossed the pond, the army was exhausted. The King was obliged to do a stopping of three days to rest.
When the army reached finally the Nazaré, they met with his allies, who offered shelter, food and protection.
The march for to Nazaré had delayed, altogether, one more third of the predicted number of days.
