However, the Baptist church started in the area with the faith of just ten people back in November 1929. Over the ensuing years it gave rise to a thriving and growing Baptist Church in Sheringham, leading to the erection of a church building in Holway Road in 1952. Various extensions, alterations and refurbishments followed and a new church hall was added in 1974.
The church recently outgrew this site, so a recent project saw the relocation of facilities into a much larger building on Cromer Road. Work began on the project in October 2012 and the new building was completed in September 2013.In addition to being used by the congregation it also acts as a centre for the local community, providing a venue in the centre of town for clubs/evening classes and mother & toddler groups.
As well as a new building the church has a new name! Lighthouse.
