Biograd se nalazi 28 km istočno od Zadra.
Gradić je osnovan u 10. stoljeću, a prvi put ga spominje Konstantin Porfirogenet sredinom 10. stoljeća.
U 11. stoljeću Biograd je za kralja Petra Krešimira IV. (1058.-1074.) postao sjedištem hrvatskih kraljeva i krunidbenim gradom u kome hrvatski vladari povremeno stanuju.
Župna crvka sv. Stošije spominje se također u 10. stoljeću, a nalazi se na uzvisini biogradskog poluotoka. Ispred crkve nalazi se stari bunar.

Church of St.. Anastasia is mentioned also in the 10th century, and is located on a hill Biograd Peninsula. In front of the church there is an old well.
