Geocache Description:

2013 Armand Bayou Fall CITO
Sunday, November 10, 2013
Boat launching promptly at 8:45 a.m.

Bring a boat. Bring a camera. Bring something to drink. And bring your sense of adventure. Time for a daytime paddle with new friend, camillabacher, from Copenhagen, Denmark!

This CITO Event is focused on the Northern part of Mud Lake (a/k/a the top half of South CLAPS). We will launch AND pull out at Bay Area Park. No shuttling required!

This is our opportunity to give back by taking out some of the junk that shouldn't be there. Not only will this keep the area beautiful, it will also benefit the wildlife which may become trapped in our trash.

We will begin meeting at Bay Area Park around 8:00ish a.m. and will launch promptly at 8:45 a.m. to head towards GZ and then start CITOing.

Things all paddlers should have / know: Paddlers should always wear life jackets, and take plenty of sunscreen and water. Sunglasses and a hat are highly recommended. Power boats / gas engines are prohibited everywhere we will be; stick to paddling.

Things needed for the CITO Event: Trash bags will be provided. A reaching stick of some kind is often easier to use than your paddle. A fishing net may be useful if you have one. Gloves are highly recommended.

Cautions for all participants: There are risks involved in getting out on the water. Please read and heed the warnings on all of the CLAPS cache pages, which will give you more information on the area, including warnings and recommendations. 01 N CLAPS can be found BY CLICKING HERE. The CLAPS V2 bookmark is on the page and you can do a PQ of just the CLAPS caches while there. You may also want to get the Drowned Stream EarthCache if you have not done it as it can be done from the water, too.

Bay Area Park also has a few caches in it and some across and down Bay Area in either direction.

Please log a will-attend log online as soon as you can.

If you don't have a boat and do want to get out on the water and help clean up, post a note here. You may find yourself in an empty canoe or kayak seat in which you can lend your paddling muscle. We will do our best to help you get out there!

Is this is your first time paddling? Don't worry! After 15 minutes on the water you'll have it down and feel like a pro. Don't let your first-time status stop you!

Bring any travel bugs looking to get travel miles or those wanting to travel to Europe!
