This geocache is located not far from the 9-11 Homage to America. The 12-foot, 10,000 pound archway is a memorial to the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The statue was donated to the City of Pensacola part of an exhibition, entitled "Architectural Passages," that was completed on September 10, 2001. After the attacks, the sculpture was revised to depict "the melding of global cultures [and] the creation of a tolerant and diverse society living peacefully together on one planet."
A dedication ceremony was held on September 11, 2004, the third anniversary of the attacks.
