Geocaching in Space
Geocaching in Space!

WHAT:

A GeOhana get together to celebrate "Geocaching in Space" and to get a cool souvenir.
We will also be joining a Google Hangout with other events around the world (including the Groundspeak event - GC4PGQD).
The Launch will be televised on NASA Television - download it onto your mobile device (iPhone ~ Android) .

Here's some background info from the Geocaching in Space FAQ page:

"Geocaching is heading towards the International Space Station (ISS). All of geocaching? No, not all of it, but a very special little Travel Bug® named TB5JJN1 is tagging along with Nasa astronaut Rick Mastracchio on his mission to the ISS. Mastracchio will be using the Travel Bug as an educational tool to help teach students around the world about geography and geocaching. Mastraccio will Rocket into Space on November 7, 2013 (GMT). Every geocacher who attends a Geocaching Event on November 6 or 7, 2013 will be awarded a “Geocaching in Space” souvenir."

WHEN: Wednesday, 6 November 2013 at 5:15pm (launch at 6:08pm).
That corresponds with the scheduled launch from Kazakhstan at 4:08 GMT on November 7.

WHERE:

Ward Gateway Center Starbucks Coffee, next to Wahoo's Fish Taco.

WHY:

Gotta eat right!?!? So might as well do it with some geocachers celebrating something pretty darn cool
