Geocache Description:

What better way to celebrate the launch of a travel bug into space then with an event.  Since Geocaching HQ will issue a Geocaching in Space souvenir to those who attend Event Caches during the launch, this will be a late night event, considering the launch is currently scheduled for 11:08 P.M. Eastern time on November 6th.

This soon to be famous travel bug will be hitching a ride with astronaut Rick Mastracchio straight to the International Space Station (ISS). Rick will live aboard the ISS for 6 months. He plans to use the Travel Bug as a tool to teach students on Earth, in his home state of Connecticut, about geography and science. He’ll also earn the Solar System’s most elusive smiley and find the International Space Station geocache.

Attendees with smartphones or other means of Internet access should be able to follow the launch live online during the event; however, as this is a  real-deal rocket launch, it could be delayed. Have no fear, you'll still qualify for the souvenir just for attending the event.

We will meet at the Gainesville Wegman's in the cafe on the second floor. Event is from 10:30 - 11:30 P.M.
