Geocache Description:

A simple if possibly puzzling cache at an interesting historic building. It was built as a chapel but is now Balderton Library, a place that we love to go.
This can be a busy area and stealth will almost definitely be needed. Once you have found the container you will still need to do a little work, everything you need is in your head or the cache description.

Information is scarce, and sometimes a bit confusing, on the various places of worship that have been available in the village. But thanks to the Balderton Library staff the following information has been found. The original Methodist chapel was built in 1815 on the site of the Current Methodist Church - GC4PQQX

But in 1856 the trustees bought land here and built the chapel that is now the current Library. This chapel was used for worship, as a school room and Sunday school for just 51 years before services moved back to the old site, the new church there being opened in 1908. The building was probably used for other purposes after this but was opened as a branch of the County Library in May of 1951.
