GeocacheAlaska! Open Mic Night!
Meet fellow geocachers and learn all about your GeocacheAlaska! Organization from the Board of Directors and candidates for the coming elections on Thursday, October 24, beginning at 6:50 p.m., at the Cooperative Extension Office, 724 27th Ave. This is at the southwest corner of the Food Bank Building. Please use the right hand door. The other door leads to the FNSB.
We encourage ALL geocachers in Alaska to attend this event either in person or via remote dial in. There will be a formal presentation up front about what GeocacheAlaska! has been doing and where we are going next. Members of the current Board of Directors will be on hand to speak about their positions as well as answer any questions that you may have. Candidates for the coming elections will also be on hand to campaign for your votes (kissing babies is optional).
This event will be carried live to remote sites via phone teleconference and WebEx. Contact us immediately if you can host a formal remote site session elsewhere in Alaska as we can publish an event page for it. Due to the club nature of this event, we are opening up the teleconference phone line to any and all Alaskan geocachers and all members of GeocacheAlaska! Dial in instructions will be provided via announcement the day of the event. WebEx login credentials will be provided to any GeocacheAlaska! members who are unable to attend a formal event site (note, that audio feed will still be over the teleconference phone line).
Please post a "Will Attend" log on this event page to stay appraised of the final details. If we need to make any announcements about this event, all registered attendees will automatically receive an email copy of those announcements via the email you have registered with your Geocaching.com account.
Please arrive on time so upfront administrative details can be handled and announcements made, allowing the course content to start precisely at 7:00 p.m. Also, please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and a dessert to share with your fellow cachers. GeocacheAlaska! will be providing PIZZA for all in-person attendees.
The GCAK Store will be available onsite during this event. The new 2013 GeocacheAlaska! Orca geocoin is in and will be available for sale at this event along with the set of 5 pathtags for this year featuring various Alaskan whale species.
