10am - 3pm - Gateway Centre, Spine Road, South Cerney
An introduction to Geocaching at the Cotswold Water Park.

For those completely new to Geocaching
Geocaching is an exciting outdoor activity for everyone, young and not so young – it’s a great way of getting outside, exploring new places and taking on a challenge at the same time. The basic idea is that you use a GPS or your mobile phone to hide and look for little containers which are known as Geocaches. With more than 6 million Geocachers looking for 2 million active Geocaches worldwide, you can also be part of this global game!

If you have never really been sure how to get started but would love to have a go, then come along on Sunday November 3rd to the Gateway Centre where friendly expert Geocachers will be on hand to show you the basics, give you hints and tips – you can even take part on the day!

For the experienced Geocachers
Hear ye! Hear ye! The event is not just for those who have not tried Geocaching before. In fact for you experienced cachers, the more who are able to pop by during the day the better. It would be great if you could be there to help offer advice and pointers to those trying it out for the first time.

Parking and food
There is plenty of parking right next to the venue. There is also a café and restrooms in the centre.

Caches
There will not be a pre-event walk, sorry. However there are a couple of new close by caches planned for the day. For those who do not know the area well there are already plenty of good caches placed on walks around the lakes. Details of walks in the area can be found on the Cotswold Water Park maps webpage. There will also be a couple of dummy caches for those who haven't tried caching before to have a go at.

Trackables
Due to this event being targeted at novices and to help stop trackables from going missing, there will not be an area to just drop them off for others to take. If you want to log TBs into the event, that is fine, but please look after them and either take them away and log them out yourself after the event, or be certain that who you hand them to are experienced enough to know how to log them and move them on. Thank you.
