Geocache Description:

Little Bridges Clangers Combo Cache!

The Froglets came to the Clangers' planet in a top-hat which must once have belonged to a conjurer or a magician because the froglets can hop in and out of this top-hat and vanish and appear more or less anywhere on the planet. They can also make other things disappear and appear and do all manner of tricks.

Nowadays the froglets live in a lake of pink soup in a cave at the middle of the planet. Oddly enough, this lake is sideways. The surface is like a smooth wall at the side of their cave, except when the froglets dive into it. Then it breaks into upright ripples and waves and splashes. Froglets don't mind about this. Upwards, downwards or sideways are all the same to them. They are just as happy standing on the roof as on the floor. The froglets are rather odd creatures really but like the Clangers and all their other friends they are quite ordinary and reasonable when you get used to them.

Clangers was a popular British stop-motion animated children's television series of short stories about a family of mouse-like creatures who live on, and in, a small blue planet (quite similar to, but not intended to be, the Moon).

They speak in whistles, and eat green soup supplied by the Soup Dragon. The programmes were originally broadcast by the BBC from 1969–1972. The series was made by Smallfilms, the company set up by Oliver Postgate (writer, animator and narrator) and Peter Firmin (modelmaker and illustrator). Firmin designed the characters, and his wife knitted and "dressed" the Clangers. Music – which was often part of the story – was by Vernon Elliott.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast, Damian from Winter Foxes has created and updates a list of cachers who has found 10 or more little bridges and can be found here, if you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan here and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xx then name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to Damian’s list.
