Geocache Description:

The Church of St. James, founded before 1100. The Church noticeboard proclaims its links to King Richard III. The Church is open daily to visitors.

Most of the Church dates from the 14th Century, replacing an earlier building on the same site. It has since been substantially restored.
An engraving dated 1790 (see Related Web Page) suggests that the Church tower was taller, although I suspect this was more the result of artistic licence.
It is held that Richard III had his last Mass in this Church, before departing to meet his doom at the Battle of Bosworth Field.
The cache is a small black tub (commonly known as a "Turtle").
