A cache placed in honour of the Festive season, although it can be found at any time of year!
This year, the cartridge has a Panto theme! You will find yourself wandering through a number of Panto-themed locations, meeting characters, all of whom are looking for something. Your task is to reunite each character with the things they seek. All of the locations can be found along Church Street and The Green, except for the final location.
This cartridge was tested in the field prior to publication using the Wherigo app for a certain type of phone that keeps the doctor away, if you catch my drift ;-). Apps for other platforms and GPSes are available. The cartridge was tested in the field on two different units.
For those of you who played our last year's festive Wherigo, we have turned the complexity back a notch or two ;-)
One thing that should be noted is that I have added a randomiser to the game which will allocate the different characters out to different locations when you open the game for the first time. This means that if you're caching in a group and more than one device is being used, you'll meet the characters in a different order, although you'll get to the same destination at roughly the same time, as it were. (assuming you stick together)
When we field tested the cartridge, it took around 45 minutes to play out the game, plus another 15-20 minutes to walk to the cache site. However, we're known for underestimating this, so you may wish to allow considerably longer. Feel free to play the cartridge over multiple sittings, especially if you have young children in your caching team, as it will involve a lot of walking!
You may wish to drive to the final location, although it's not a park and grab, so you will need to find suitable parking. Please park safely, legally, and considerately.
Some tips as you go along. I can't stress any of the below enough!!
- Whenever you bump into someone, ask them everything you possibly can. Next time you see them, there may be other questions you can ask that you couldn't the first time.
- Save your game at regular intervals, where your chosen hardware allows.
- Pay attention to what's going on on your screen, so you don't miss anything.
