John Harrison (1693-1776) invented the first marine chronometer as his entry for a competition by the Government to find a way of precising determining the longitude of a ship at sea. He succeeded, although navigation by the stars was more widely used instead and won the prize of 20,000 guineas. His story is told in the book and TV series 'Longitude'. This cache was inspired by a visit to the Prime Meridian at Greenwich, where his chronometers are on display. That may well be the 0 degree cache you're looking for. This is a difficult cache. This cache is at the stated coordinates, but in order to find this cache you must fulfil the requirements. You will need to have travelled the length and breadth of the United Kingdom in your quest for this cache. Previous finds meeting the criteria can be counted towards your submission, and if your cache is on both a qualifying latitude and longitude, that will count as both.

The margin of error for each cache location must not be more than 00.999, so if your cache is located at 58 00.987 this will count but at 58 01.000 will not.
