PNSA MasterDegree Challenge Mystery Cache

A cache está escondida nas coordenadas publicadas e não é preciso decifrar qualquer enigma escondido. Segundo as guidelines actuais, quando existe uma condição especial para fazer o found, deverá ser utilizado o tipo Cache Mistério.

Para reclamar o found nesta cache, além do vosso log no log-book, terão que cumprir o desafio de encontrar pelo menos 15 caches (arquivadas ou não) de Terreno igual ou superior a 3,5 estrelas, inseridas no PNSA – Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina.

The cache is hidden at the published coordinates and you don’t need to solve any puzzle or mystery. According to the current guidelines, if there’s any special requirement to claim the found, the cache type should be Unknown.

To claim the found of this challenge cache, besides your signature at the log-book, you must complete the Challenge to find at least 15 caches (archived or not) with Terrain equal or above 3,5 stars, inside the PNSA – Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Vincentian Coast.

Em frente ao Ribat da Arrifana (http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castelo_de_Arrifana , http://coord.info/GC15C9T ) encontra-se a denominada “Pedra da Atalaia”. Um local imponente, fustigado continuamente pelo agressivo mar ocidental que lhe provocou, ao longo dos tempos, recortes únicos.

Habitada por dezenas de gaivotas que ali vivem e procriam, é o local onde podem apreciar uma das mais extensas vistas em terra sobre a Costa Vicentina Algarvia. Visitada regularmente por perceveiros, estes são os segundos donos da ilhota, que ali arriscam a vida em busca do seu ganha-pão. A cache leva-vos lá.

Aceder ao local vai obrigar a nadar, utilizar um kayak, barco ou prancha de bodyboard. Aconselho o uso de um fato de pesca/surf e uns botins de pesca, ou calçado sólido, pois facilita-vos nas rochas.

Antes de se deslocarem lá verifiquem duas situações importantes:

Marés de grande amplitude permitem, na baixa-mar, maior facilidade de acesso, sendo “quase” possível aceder ao local sem acessórios. Ondulação grande (superior a 1,5 metros) impossibilita o acesso ao local.

Vão com tempo, estudem o mar e a melhor maneira de lá chegar, pois há várias soluções consoante as condições do mar e do dia. Tenham atenção às correntes marítimas existentes.

Há rede de telemóvel no local, mas nunca façam esta cache sozinhos, pois não há vigilância por perto. Se não souberem nadar bem ou não se sentirem confiantes a nadar no mar NÃO tentem esta cache.

Os visitantes assumem todos os riscos, tendo a responsabilidade de avaliar as condições de segurança. Segurança e bom senso sempre em primeiro lugar.

A cache é uma pequena caixa escondida numa zona mais baixa da ilha. O local foi escolhido para não perturbar as crias de gaivota na Primavera. No entanto, aconselho se possível, a subirem ao alto e apreciarem as vistas.

Esta cache está no Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. Não se esqueçam de ajudar a preservar a Natureza e a beleza natural do local. Algum lixo que encontrem no local ou nos acessos levem-no para junto dos caixotes de lixo existentes nos acessos - Cache In, Trash Out!

In front of the Ribat Arrifana (http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castelo_de_Arrifana , http://coord.info/GC15C9T ) there’s a little island called the 'Stone of Atalaia'. It’s a majestic place, continually harassed by the aggressive western sea which caused, over time, unique cutouts.

Inhabited by dozens of seagulls who lives and procreate, this is the place where you can enjoy one of the most extensive views on land on the Algarve Coast Vincentian. The place is often visited by perceveiros (fishermen), who are the second owners of the island, risking their lives in search of their daily bread. The cache leads you there.

Access to the site will require a swim, a kayak, a boat or a bodyboard. I suggest to wear a surf/fishing suite and surf boots or any other solid footwear because it will help you walking on the rocks.

Before you start your journey pay attention at two important things:

Large amplitude tides, at low tide, make it easy accessing to the island, and 'almost' allows you access to the island without accessories. With big waves (more than 1.5 meters) it's impossibile to access to the island.

Take your time, study the sea and watch the best way to get there, as there are several solutions depending on the conditions of day and sea. Pay also very attention to the sea streams.

Although there’s mobile phone network in GZ, never do this cache alone, as there is no surveillance nearby. If you aren’t a good swimmer or if you don’t feel comfortable swimming at the sea, please DON'T try this cache.

Visitors assumes all the risks visiting this cache, being responsible for all the safety conditions. Common sense and safety always comes first.

The cache is a small container hidden in the lower area of the island. This place was chosen to not disturb the young seagulls born in the spring. However, I suggest you to climb to the top and enjoy the view, whenever it’s possible.

This cache is at the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina. Don’t forget to help preserving nature and natural beauty of the place. If you find some garbage on the way take it with you and place it on the next trash basket - Cache In, Trash Out!
