Z dolžino dobre 12 km in pravšnjo razgibanostjo ter zanimivim zlitjem preteklosti in sedanjosti je Čemšeniška grajska pot po zaledju Lavrice primerna tako za rekreativce kot nedeljske izletnike, ki se želijo poleg rekreacije tudi podučiti. Pot je krožna, primerna tudi za gorske kolesarje in traja 3-4 ure zmerne hoje. Pot je sestavljena iz 28 geocache točk, poteka pa večinoma po gozdu, delno pa po asfaltu in makadamu; priporočamo pohodno obutev in palice.
Krožna Čemšeniška grajska pot obkroži naselje Lavrica po njenem hribovitem zaledju. Pohodnik se bo zagotovo najprej vprašal, zakaj ime Čemšeniška grajska pot, če pa le ta obhodi Lavrico? Ime poti je tesno povezano z zgodovino naselja. Nekoč so sedanjo Lavrico sestavljali štirje zaselki oziroma vasi: Sela, Srednja vas, Daljna vas in na drugi strani Dolenjske ceste, tako rekoč na Barju, še zaselek Babna Gorica. Vse navedene vasi so bile skupaj z delom Orel v srednjem veku povezane v župo (naselbino) z imenom Čemšenik, ki je bila prvič omenjena leta 1330 v listini češkega kralja in koroškega vojvode Henrika IV. Koroškega.
Prvi del poti poteka po urbanem delu Lavrice in sicer se s parkirišča odpravimo nazaj proti Dolenjski cesti, kjer pot zavije proti Ljubljani in gre mimo osnovne šole in gasilskega doma do Ogrinove hiše.. Od tam se iz Lavrice pot strmo dvigne mimo nekdanje Srednje vasi proti Erženu in se nato nadaljuje skozi gozd proti zaselku Hrastarija. Na Orle pridemo nekje na sredini vasi, kjer zavijemo desno. Ko se vas konča, se pot nadaljuje mimo spomenika NOB do opuščenega kamnoloma. Tu se začne pot postopoma vzpenjati, kjer mimo »grmade« pridemo do vrha Molnika. Z Molnika se pot spusti do največjega avtocestnega useka v Sloveniji, prečka avtocesto in se nadaljuje v smeri zaselka Lisičje, bolj znanega po istoimenskem lovskem dvorcu, ki stoji na začetku zaselka. Pot se nadaljuje skozi gozd po skorajda ravnem slemenu do Šeparjevega hriba, s katerega se nam ponudi razgled po Lavrici in Ljubljanskem barju, nato pa se spustimo do izhodiščnega parkirišča.

With a length of over 12 km and the right amount of diverse and interesting fusion of past and present Čemšeniška grajska pot is a journey through the hinterland of Lavrica, suitable for both recreational and sunday hikers, who want to educate in addition to recreation as well. The route is circular, also suitable for mountain bikers and lasts 3-4 hours of moderate hiking. Trail leads you through 28 geocache points, mostly the woods and partly on the asphalt and macadam; we recommend hiking boots and poles.
Circular trail Čemšeniška grajska pot encircles Lavrica on its hilly hinterland. Hikers will certainly ask themselves why the name Čemšeniška grajska pot, because trail encircles Lavrica? The name of the trail is closely related to the history of Lavrica. Once the current Lavrica was composed of four hamlets and villages: Sela, Srednja vas, Daljna vas and on the other side of the Dolenjska cesta road, practically on the moor, a hamlet Babna Gorica. All these villages, with a part of Orle, were in the Middle Ages connected to the settlement called Čemšenik, which was mentioned for the first time in 1330 in a document of the Czech king and the duke of Carinthia, Henry IV. Corinth.
The first part of the trail runs through the urban part of Lavrica. From the parking lot we go back to Dolenjska cesta, where the path turns towards Ljubljana and goes past the primary school and the firehouse to Ogrinova house. From there the trail rises steeply out from Lavrica, past former Srednja vas towards Eržen and then continues through the woods to the hamlet Hrastarija. We come to Orle somewhere in the middle of the village and we turn to the right. After leaving Orle, the trail continues past the WWII monument to abandoned quarry. The trail begins to ascend gradually, where you come to the top of Molnik past "grmada". From there the trail begins to descend to the largest highway cut in Slovenia, crosses highway and leads us towards the hamlet Lisičje, more known for its hunting manor with the same name, which stands at the beginning of the hamlet. From there the trail continues through the forest on almost straight ridge to the Šeparjev hill, from which we can have a nice view on Lavrica and Ljubljana Moor. From there we descend to the parking lot, from where we started.
