Geocache Description:

Watch out for thorns. They are SUPER sharp and on a tree, not vines. OUCH!

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates.

In fourth grade, I first heard of a man named Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  In school, we read the "I Have a Dream" speech for the first time and I was instantly intrigued. I couldn't believe there was a time when black children and white children couldn't play together or that there was a time we couldn't eat at the same restaurant.  My best friend that year in school was a black girl named Sharlotte Robinson and I couldn't fathom not having lunch with her or not being allowed to play tetherball with her at recess.

Wednesday, August 28th, 2013 marked the 50th anniversary of the "I Have a Dream" speech.  I happened to be working at a local cafe that day and stumbled upon the article revisiting that historic day.  I decided right then to place a cache in honor of this historic occasion.  My daughter is a second grader and one of her closest friends is a black girl. When I see them together, holding hands in the lunch line or reading to each other it always makes me smile to see how far we've come.
