Mega 2014 - Another Taste of Arran Event Cache

To kick start a week of Geocaching Adventures for the 7th UK Mega Event, the Arran Cachers would like to invite you over to the Isle of Arran (Scotland in miniature) to join us in our annual Taste of Arran event.

The loggable part of the event will be from 5pm on Saturday 26th July, when we will be having an evening of local food and entertainment.

The catering will be a JackieC special (just ask any Scottish Geocacher about JackieC's catering!), so no need to bring your own food!!! Just bring your own bottle and a fiver per adult (half price for children). All the meat will be sourced locally, so you'll be having a true taste of Arran! (I can't vouch for where the veggies will be grown, but they'll be locally bought too). The local butchers pork, apple and black pudding sausages are worth coming over for alone, nevermind his amazing venison burgers!! Just look for the motorhome with the flags and the event shelter next to it. The event is there!!! The campsite also has an onsite cafe for breakfasts, lunches and evening meals.

The distillery is just across the road too, and is also well worth a visit and if you're really lucky you'll see the Golden Eagles who nest nearby and are often seen flying overhead. Also look out for the local deer, they wander round the golf course and village and are very good at posing for photos.
