Geocache Description:

Stephen Cosgrove and Robin James wrote and illustrated, respectively, the Serendipity series of books which were published from 1974 through at least 1994.  Aimed at young children, they were bright, colorful, inexpensive books that taught an important moral lesson.  But I digress somewhat: You want to know what this has to do with the cache!

Well, one of the earliest characters Cosgrove created was the Wheedle, a large furry creature that resembled a Sasquatch with a bright red glowing, blinking nose.

A Wheedle

Wheedles would sleep for years at a time, but the noise of civilization disturbs them.  The Wheedle in Cosgrove's story lived near the Puget Sound in Washington State.  Over the years he kept being awakened as the noise from Seattle encroached on his habitat.  Eventually he solved his problem by curling up on the tip of the Space Needle, high above and away from the noise of the city below.  At night you can see his glowing nose blinking on and off all night long.

Clovis has its share of Wheedles.  You may not be able to spot them during the day, but if you hunt this cache at night you will find yourself surrounded by them!
