Geocache Description:

Short hike and fun climb for the family.

This is a short hike that our family has enjoyed for decades.  The cache is at the foot of a large rock pile formation.  Thus, the name dubbed by the family.  Finding the cache requires a short, easy 10 to 15 minute hike along an old US Forest Service Road, so the trail is well defined and ends at "The Rocks".  Park at the end of Lynx Street where the trail begins.  Cache is located at the west side at the base of the Rocks.  It is under a rock overhang that is somewhat semicircle shaped.  If you climb up to the highest point on the rocks, you can see the top of one of the last standing fire towers to the west; the Sleeping Indian to the north, the plains to the east; as well as a view of the Ceran St. Vrain valley.  Kids enjoy the short hike and climbing on the rock formation with its many natural steps and easily scalable sloped surfaces.
