Ground Under Repair Traditional Geocache

Golden Gate Park has fabulous stands of trees, but unfortunately many of the magnificent trees have reached the end of their lives. They then pose a danger to the public as they drop limbs and/or topple onto park visitors. It hurts to see them go, but they are being replaced by young saplings which will last another hundred years, for generations yet to come.

This area was really overgrown and pretty much a homeless camp for a long time. Park & Rec has culled the old trees and cleared the heavy brush. It's a little stark right now, but is being transformed with new plantings. A small stand of redwoods was saved. Eventually, the area will be "marbleless"!
