This is number 12 of a series ring that will take you on a round trip (figure of 8 to be precise) of a little over 5 miles and will contain 20+ caches. This cache is a small click box and only has a log book inside - please bring your own pencil/pen - unfortunately we ran out of writing implements. The terrain is not too bad here and you should be able to avoid the stingers. Good luck.
The Hogs Back Reservoir lies just off the main track, once the main road from Guildford, that leads to the first cache in this series. The four transmission masts mark the location of the reservoir.
Apparently there are a number of Hogs Back Reservoirs including one in Australia and one in the States. However I'm sure none of them were Dr Who locations for filming the TV series in the early days.
The rest of the series will be published in the coming days/weeks. We hope that this will encourage first time FTFs and hopefully allow those FTF hounds in this competitive region to share the spoils. These caches have been around for some time now and we have had mainly good logs but there have been some really bad ones as well. Please note that not all the caches will be easy to find and I would urge you to look at their rating to determine which are the difficult ones. Please feel free to skip the high rating caches if they are not to your liking, remember they are not meant to be found easily. Enjoy the hunt and the walk, including that steep hill at the end. This one shouldn't be too difficult to find.
