Stary kościół pod wezwaniem św. Marii Magdaleny jest jednym z piękniejszych zabytków gotyku drewnianego w Polsce. Świątynię zbudowano w roku 1606, a wiek później dobudowano do niego okazałą wieżę. W 1802 roku wnętrze pokryto polichromią. Kościół pełnił funkcje sakralne do 1908 roku, kiedy to wybudowano nowy, większy kościół parafialny. Wciąż dbano jednak o starą świątynię, a w roku 1936 przekształcono ją w Muzeum imienia Władysława Orkana - czynne do dnia dzisiejszego. Świątynię otacza wokół kamienny mur z drewnianym daszkiem, w którym umieszczono stacje Drogi Krzyżowej, a także starodrzew. W obrębie terenu przykościelnego znajduje się kilka nagrobków z dawnego cmentarza. Teren ten zamykany jest na noc. Aby dostać się do skrytki, nie trzeba tam wchodzić. Jeśli jednak muzeum jest otwarte - warto je odwiedzić.

The old Mary Magdalene church in Rabka is one of the most beautiful buildings of wooden Gothic style in Poland. It has been built in 1606 and about 100 years later the massive tower has been added to the main building. There is a polychrome from 1802 inside. The church had been used as a temple up to 1908. As the population of Rabka grew the people needed a bigger church and it has been built nearby. The old one has been converted into the Władysław Orkan Museum in 1936. The museum exists till now and it is worth visiting. There is a stone wall around the church with the Stations of the Cross. There are remains of an old cemetery in the churchyard. The gates are closed at night but there is no need to enter the churchyard to get to the cache.
