Geocache Description:

This cache IS at the posted coordinates.

Welcome to Hell.

In all the places we've discovered through Geocaching this place stands out to me as a true oddity and challenge. This jungle is situated between various housing developments in the ever expnading city of Melbourne. We first learned of this area from finding Cache & Keri's 'Rite of Passage', which is about 600 feet south from where this cache is located.

It is ILLEGAL trespass on private property so don't do it. I know it would make this cache 10x easier to do it that way but you'd be breaking the law and cheating yourself out of the experience and challenge of this cache. Enter from Parkway and make your way north through the swamp as intended.

Bring plenty of water during the summer months and proper attire. Under the canopy is very humid and after a good storm the depth of the water can be over your head. There is wildlife of course so be weary of snakes and spiders. Having a machete could be helpful as the brush is thick with vines and brush. The jungle seems to grow back from behind you; leaving you no visable trail back and can be confusing and disorienting. Please, Please only attempt this cache if you are in good health and can handle the conditions. We don't want anyone to get hurt.

Now for the actual cache itself. The cache is a ammo box about 6 feet above the ground to avoid the waters. To obtain and sign the logbook you must solve a relatively simple field puzzle that most geocachers have seen before. So yes this cache tests your physical, mental, and emotional abilities. We have also added some hand-drawn pictures for souvenirs and encourage you to take pictures of your journey if you're able to. This is our favorite cache we've hidden and so far our most difficult one. We hope you enjoy the challenge that has taken nearly 3 years to get up the courage to do. This is for the SCGA and all those quality caches we've found over the years. Cache on.
