- L'HISTOIRE DU PARC DES DRYADES
Autrefois, le parc était une petite pinède mais il fut rapidement acheté par la Société Immobilière de La Baule-les-Pins qui
l'aménagea. Il fut inauguré en même temps que la première plage de La Baule-les-Pins c'est-à-dire le 1er juillet 1923.
A cette époque, il existait déjà des jeux pour les enfants ainsi qu'un petit théatre Guignol!
En 1925, un belvédère fut construit pour offrir un superbe panorama aux touristes qui grimpaient en haut de la plate-forme
à deux niveaux. Il fut malheureusement détruit pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale
Louis Lajarrige (qui doit son nom à l'avenue Lajarrige dans le centre de La Baule) racheta le parc en 1937 et en fit don
à la commune en 1951. Il lui appartient toujours aujourd'hui. En 2006, l'amphithéatre du parc
- Actuellement, le parc des Dryades est incontestablement l'un des points phares de La Baule et ses environs.Sur plus de 25 000 m² poussent plus de 300 arbres, d'ornements, de feuillus ou de connifères et près de 20 000 plantes. Il est très apprécié pour ses structures de jeux pour les enfants mais surtout pour ses jardins fleuris en toutes saisons.Régulièrement, les jardiniers imaginent et aménagent le parc selon des thèmes précis qui peuvent être très différents les uns des autres comme le Japon en été 2006 ou les jouets en bois en été 2013.
ATTENTION
-le parc est fermé le soir à 20h30 en juillet/août et à 18h30 le reste de l'année.

- THE PARK OF THE DRYADES' HISTORY
In the past, the park was a small pine forest but was quickly bought by the Real Estate Company in La Baule-les-Pins that
developped it. It was opened at the same time as the first beach of La Baule-les-Pins- on 1st July 1923. At this time, there were
already few children structures and a Guignol theater -a puppet show very famous in France-!
In 1925, a belvedere was built to provide a panoramic view to the tourists who climbed up the platform on two levels.
Unfortunately it was destroyed during the Second World War.
Louis Lajarrige (which owes its name to the Lajarrige avenue in the center of La Baule) bought the park in 1937 and then donated it to
the town in 1951. It still belongs to it today. In 2006, the amphitheater of the park was renovated to be able to welcome
more than 2000 spectators.
- Today, the park of the Dryads is undoubtedly one of the landmarks of La Baule and its surroundings.On over 25,000 m² grow more than 300 trees, ornaments, flower stalls, walking trails, hardwood or conifers and nearly 20,000 plants.It is famous for its play structures for children, but especially for its beautiful flower gardens in all seasons.Regularly, the gardeners imagine and design the park by specific topics that can be very different from each other as 'Japan' in summer 2006 or 'wooden toys' in summer 2013.

- the park is closed in the evening at 8.30 PM during July/August and at 6.30 PM the rest of the year.
