Smack dab in the middle of Miami's most colorful neighborhood (now that Jimbo's is gone) and across the street from one of our favorite spots. I would say Wynwood is being gentrified, but gentrification generally does not result in swaths of graffitti art being added to local walls and establishments. Perhaps this calls for a new term: neighborhood artification. Regardless of what you call it, certainly Wynwood is much more interesting for its new pastiche, having been converted from a district of boxy warehouses tagged by gangs to a neighborhood of boxy warehouses holding art studios, coffee shops and pubs and adorned by spray paint artists with more in mind than to express their gang's territorial ambitions.
