Geocache Description:

The cache IS at the posted coordinates, but to log it as a find, you must meet the requirements of the challenge as listed below.

This is a favorite point challenge and you must meet the following requirements before you can log the find online.

What you must do to qualify

  • You must have found caches in one day whose favorite points total to at least 777.
  • The finds must all have occurred on the same calendar date. The date found can be anytime past or present but all caches used to reach the lucky 777 total must have been found by you on that same date. That means that the caches were found on a single and specific month/day/year, not a month/day combination in many years.
  • The cache finds MUST all be physical caches. That is, no virtuals , Earthcaches or webcam caches may be used to qualify for this challenge.
  • The finds can be in any state(s)/country(ies) as long as they are on the same date.
  • Favorite points from THIS cache may NOT be used in the total
  • You can only use the same cache once. Just in case anyone thought they could log 2 finds on the same cache and use it twice.

Logging the cache

  • Use whatever method works best for you but shows indisputable proof that you have met the challenge (bookmark list, GSAK, project-gc.com, etc). If you create a bookmark list of the caches you are using to qualify for this challenge, include THIS cache on the list so that the bookmark list shows on this cache page. You may NOT use favorite points from THIS cache in your total.
  • You may find this cache before qualifying and sign the log, then log a find when you actually complete the requirement. If you do find and sign before qualifying, I'd appreciate it if you would log a note on the date you sign the log, and also log a separate find on the date you qualified.
  • I will verify your list, and I will delete Found logs of those that do not qualify.

About the Cache

777 was an arbitrary number that came from a friend who suggested this as a number that could be achieved but not easily, especially without allowing non-physical caches to be included. Something different than all the round number challenges out there.
777 is attainable as we more than doubled this number in Florida when we were there for GWXI and for one day focused on nothing but high favorite point caches northwest and west of Tampa. So it can be done although I'm not sure if this can be done in NC - yet, but it will some day. Wherever you accomplish this, you will feel like a winner in Vegas to have found so many highly regarded hides in one day.

The cache is an ammo can.

The difficulty is for qualifying for the challenge. The cache itself should be easy to find.

As you near the cache, be careful going down the hill. Underneath the pine straw and leaves are loose rocks from the old rail bed that often shift as you step on them.

Initial contents include all the geocaching related stickers I found around my house that I've never used. Includes the GEO Euro stickers, NCGO stickers, gc.com logo stickers. Also, other items of questionable value and interest.

Park at the ATT parking lot off New Hill Olive Chapel Rd just to the west of the posted coordinates. Start walking on the ATT trail. When it turns to the left, you will turn right and pass the game lands sign. Stay on the old rail bed until your GPS tells you to leave it.

This cache is located in game lands. Take all appropriate cautions if seeking during one of our hunting seasons.
