Geocache Description:

Explaining this trail  /  Explicando essa trilha

Droving used to be a very common practice of moving trades and livestock during the XVIII century in this region, pigs and sugar were often brought from the Ribeira Valley (low land) to Capão Bonito region (high land), whereas cotton, peanuts and mules were sent from Capão Bonito to Ribeira Valley.

For more than 200 years this drove trail used to be one of the most important way to link the south coast of São Paulo State to Capão Bonito region, some parts of the trail was turned into roads like this one, and others  was overgrown by the vegetation.
